FAQs

Do you conduct in-person sessions as well as teletherapy?

I see clients in person at my Midtown Manhattan office in addition to virtually via a secure HIPAA-compliant platform. However, in-person availability is subject to change depending on COVID-19 safety measures, and masks are required for sessions conducted in person.

What are your policies and practices around insurance?

I do not accept insurance, however I do provide a Superbill for my clients to submit claims for reimbursement from their insurance provider. As this process might be confusing to navigate, I can provide instruction on this process so that clients may get started with submitting claims and receiving reimbursement.

How participatory are you during sessions?

In session, I create a supportive and accepting space for my clients to express themselves openly. With the needs of my clients at the forefront at all times, I am attuned to situations in which feedback from me would be helpful or when a quieter presence is most therapeutic. Each session is unique and my degree of participation adapts accordingly.

How should I prepare for my first session with you?

Prior to our first session, I will send you a simple intake form – through a HIPAA-compliant and secure client portal – to help identify what brings you into therapy and help me get to you know. Aside from the requisite paperwork, I invite you to bring any questions and share information that would help make you feel comfortable.

Can we talk first to explore fit before booking our first session?

Absolutely! Finding the right therapist is important and fit should definitely be explored before entering the work of therapy together. I offer a complimentary phone consultation before any commitment is made.
